How to play Cards Against Humanity
Players submit response cards and a rotating judge selects the funniest combination. The adult deck is a different product from Family Edition.
What you need
Adult base black prompt deck and white response deck
Set up the game
- Deal ten white cards each. The printed starting-player joke selects the person who most recently used the bathroom; random selection is an agreed alternative.
Playing Cards Against Humanity
- Card Czar reads a black prompt and submits no answer.
- Others submit the specified number of white cards face down. Keep Pick 2 answers together in intended reading order.
- Czar mixes complete entries, reads each combination and chooses a favorite. That player earns one point.
- Pass Czar duties clockwise and refill to ten. Continue for an agreed session length; the basic sheet sets no universal first-to-ten victory.
Keep the order intelligible
Imagine a neutral invented prompt asking for an unlikely breakfast followed by an unexpected dessert. Swapping your two responses changes the intended joke. Put the first face-down response under the second as the sheet directs, and make sure the Czar knows the order. This demonstrates procedure without borrowing card writing.
Choose the deck before inviting people
The adult product includes sexual, profane and deliberately offensive material. Describe that when organizing and let people choose another game comfortably. A party-game label does not make every deck appropriate for every gathering. This guide reproduces no adult prompts or response text.
Beginner decisions
- Build a coherent combination before reaching for shock value; the judge may prefer timing or an unexpected connection.
- Keep multi-card answers paired during mixing or their intended meaning may disappear.
Common rule mix-ups
- Mistaking the adult deck for Family Edition.
- Drawing an extra card on every Pick 2: that is optional Packing Heat.

How is a winner chosen?
