What you need

Installed Diablo IV, required access and online connection, and supported controls

Set up the game

  1. Create non-Hardcore Eternal character, choose a class and begin rather than skip the campaign.
  2. Select accessible difficulty and learn movement, skills, healing and evade; read your class’s resource rules.

If you play on PC for long stretches, a comfortable mouse or headset makes a real difference. Razer's accessory range is one place to compare options; check platform compatibility first. (Affiliate link: we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. How links work.)

Playing Diablo IV

  1. Follow the tracked quest’s conversations, locations and fights.
  2. Use skills within resource and cooldown limits; reposition around dangerous attacks.
  3. Spend available skill points on a coherent set of attacks and supporting effects.
  4. Compare equipment effects for the skills you use, manage inventory and make upgrades thoughtfully.
  5. Complete encounters and turn-ins to advance. Later activities have their own goals. Ordinary death is recoverable; Hardcore permanently loses the character.

Readiness is not a safe attack window

A boss marks the ground beneath you as your attack becomes ready. Continuing the sequence may kill you and lose far more damage time than moving. Leave the danger, identify a safe window and resume. Repeatedly being hit by the same warning is a reason to reduce distractions before changing the entire build.

Connect the skills and equipment

If a main attack consumes a resource, plan how to supply it and how to survive long enough to use it. An impressive bonus for an unrelated ability may require rebuilding rather than merely equipping the item. Exact values, difficulty labels and seasonal systems change, so read your character’s current tooltips. A coherent damage-and-survival plan is more useful than collecting isolated bonuses. If a fight repeatedly defeats you, inspect positioning and defenses before assuming that more damage alone will fix it.

Beginner decisions

  • Support one main damage plan before distributing bonuses across unrelated skills.
  • After repeated deaths, change one factor at a time so the improvement has an identifiable cause.

Common rule mix-ups

  • Copying a seasonal mechanic unavailable on Eternal.
  • Equating every green item arrow with a better complete build.

Questions about this game

Does one score win the game?

No; story, dungeons and endgame activities have different objectives.

Why non-Hardcore here?

It lets ordinary learning mistakes avoid permanent character loss.
